Anyone who lives in the Township knows that access to high speed internet is one of the largest concerns for keeping us at a competitive level with those from around the world.
My opponents in this race have been seeking to give a government granted monopoly to one of the telecom companies in order to finally give the more rural residents of the Township access to high speed internet.
While in the short term this may like a good idea at first, tying your hands and that of your grandchildren to one company with basically no competition is bad.
Historically without competition corporations stop innovating and instead remains stagnate.
Instead I seek to encourage our neighbors to establish their own ISP.
I suspect a non-profit co-operative may be the the best solution for our community, but we will never know if we sell our soul to Comcast.
